About Us — The Watchlist Diaries

Welcome to The Watchlist Diaries — a corner of the internet for people who like their entertainment sharp, honest, and refreshingly free of studio PR fluff.

We’re not critics in tuxedos or fanboys blinded by hype. We’re just people who watch too much TV, argue about movies at 2 a.m., and occasionally obsess over anime frame-by-frame. The Watchlist Diaries is where all that energy goes… reviews, rankings, deep dives, or just strong opinions we felt like sharing.

Expect a mix of mainstream and niche, the blockbuster and the beautifully weird. Some days we’re reviewing a Marvel spin-off, other days we’re hyping up a historical anime you’ve never heard of (but absolutely should). Basically, if it’s on screen and on our minds it ends up here.

We’re independent. Just real takes from real viewers. And we’re always open to hearing yours too, hit the comments, call us out, or recommend your latest watchlist obsession.

If it made us think, laugh, rage, or rewind… you’ll probably read about it here.

Meet Who’s Behind the Blog

The Watchlist Diaries is currently run by a small but dedicated team of screen junkies, writers, and insomniac binge-watchers. Basically, if we missed a deadline, it’s probably because we were rewatching an anime finale or rewriting a hot take.

Avik Nag Chowdhury

Avik is our resident nerd with a surprisingly sharp pen. By day, he turns complex tech into something people can actually understand. By night, he’s either deep into a movie binge or defending the DC Universe like it’s a constitutional duty. Marvel is fine. DC is home. And yes, he genuinely believes he’s Batman. He’s also permanently disappointed that the younger generation doesn’t appreciate what he calls “real cinema.”

Amit Mitra

Amit lives comfortably in two universes: tech and superheroes. By day, he writes code. By night, he’s untangling multiverse theories and debating whether Gotham’s moral compass was ever straight to begin with. He loves both DC and Marvel without picking sides. He has a sharp eye for storytelling. For him, superheroes aren’t just popcorn entertainment… they’re modern myths wrapped in cinematic spectacle.

The Backseat Critic

Hi, it’s me. Yes, I know “The Backseat Critic” sounds a bit dramatic. If you have read my articles you know being dramatic is pretty on brand for me.

The Watchlist Diaries started during a 2AM crisis when I realized my “Add to Watchlist” note had over 100 titles and I had no idea how to finish it. I checked reviews to decide what to watch, and most of them felt wildly disconnected from what the content was actually trying to be. So I decided to create a corner of the internet where fans could talk honestly, overanalyze shamelessly, and disagree loudly.

Technically, I’m the Editor-in-Chief. But in reality, I’m just someone who loves stories in any form they take. I judge content based on what it promises. If it swings big, I respect it. If it exceeds expectations, I obsess over it.

You won’t always agree with me. That’s fine after all passion comes first. Hollywood, Bollywood, K-dramas, Anime… if it tells a story, I’m watching it (or at least I plan to).
